San Diego State University
San Diego State University was founded in 1897 and is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral University II. With over 34,000 students it is one of the largest universities in the Western United States and the largest within the California State University System.
SDSU is a teaching university with strong research programs. Research and scholarship strengthen the instruction SDSU students receive in the classroom and laboratory. SDSU's faculty conducts more than $65 million in funded research each year. These projects provide unusual opportunities for students who can work alongside faculty using the latest equipment.
The College of Engineering offers degreed programs in Aerospace, Civil, Computer, Construction, Electrical, Environmental, and Mechanical Engineering.
One of a handful of polytechnic universities nationwide, California State Polytechnic University at Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) opened in the fall of 1938 and offers a unique learn-by-doing approach by blending theory and practice into all of its programs, from the liberal arts to the applied sciences. Small class size, a 23:1 student-teacher ratio, internships and real-world experiences are all part of the learning culture.
Cal Poly Pomona enrolls a diverse population of 21,000 students and ranks 6th on the list of Top Public Universities – Masters in the Western United States. Located 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, the campus offers the excitement of one of the world’s most diverse metropolitan areas while retaining the serenity of a foothill community. The campus features 1,438 acres of rolling hills and gardens as well as many historical buildings linking to its past as the winter home of one of its founders, breakfast cereal magnate, W.K. Kellogg.
The College of Engineering offers degree programs in Aerospace, Chemical & Materials, Civil, Electrical & Computer, Engineering Technology, Industrial & Manufacturing, and Mechanical Engineering.
The College of Engineering at SDSU became an Affiliate Training Institute in 2002.
